Three Persons... One Love

Photo shows lyrics to U2's "One" followed by part of the Nicene Creed. Who knows what Bono had in mind. But whoever snapped this picture made a connection. I know there's at least one U2 fan out there who might have an opinion on this. I won't name you, but you know who you are!

I don't know if I'm "the one" but I am one and we are all the same.

Seems to me pretty obvious that someone recognized a parallel between the lyrics and the creed, and put them together in a book. Whether or not Bono intended the parallel, "Someone" did.

I think it is an appropriate parallel and would be appropriate in a liturgy.

My personal conviction is that "One" is not as much a statement about the godhead as it is a paraphrase of Eph 4. But the trinitarian connection is certainly appropriate.

Yes, you're the one!

I have to go check out Eph 4... after my brain recovers from the ST102 final exam.

By the way, I just got my graded paper back on the "bad math" project. I lost one point. Can you guess why???

Hint: You may by all rights say: "told you so."

Merry Christmas, Dr. Kreider!

I still like 1 x 1 x 1 = 1. The math works at least.
