Every once in awhile a song comes along...

Lyrics to
Anyway
(sung by Martina McBride)

You can spend your whole life building something from nothing
One storm can come and blow it all away
Build it anyway

You can chase a dream that seems so out of reach and you know it might not ever come your way
Dream it anyway

Chorus:
God is great, but sometimes life ain't good
And when I pray it doesn't always turn out like I think it should
But I do it anyway, I do it anyway

This world's gone crazy and it's hard to believe that tomorrow will be better than today
Believe it anyway

You can love someone with all your heart, for all the right reasons, and in a moment they can choose to walk away
Love 'em anyway

One storm can come and blow it all away
Build it anyway

You can chase a dream that seems so out of reach and you know it might not ever come your way
Dream it anyway

Chorus:
God is great, but sometimes life ain't good
And when I pray it doesn't always turn out like I think it should
But I do it anyway, I do it anyway

You can pour your soul out singing a song you believe in that tomorrow they'll forget you ever sang
Sing it anyway, sing it anyway

I like this, Sarah. It is especially a good reminder for me as I tend to be very cautious and do not like to get out of my comfort zone.

hi, Dawn!

this song stopped me in my tracks! i've had this "on hold" mentality for a couple years on the other end of the cancer diagnosis. but when we stop dreaming, we rob ourselves of something vital and precious in the present. i appreciate the honesty in this song... and its testimony to hope.

(Jamey, are you there? you will be very happy to learn that I discovered this song... not on country radio (sorry)... but American Idol. I'm fully recovered from the trauma of the season opener, thanks in large part to you... and I'm rooting for...)

Ok, Sarah, now that you are branching out a little. Check out "Tough" by Craig Morgan (country). You'll love it too. Actually thought of you the first time I heard it with tears rolling down my face. Be prepared. Put your mascara on AFTER you hear it.

Jamey... i bought "tough" on i-tunes yesterday. i do believe i could go country just about any day now. it's a beautiful song, thank you! i don't look back and think i was so tough, though. because between the hand of God and the blitz of love and support we received from family and friends like you... the good far outweighed the bad. i think you were the tough ones... i got to sit around on the couch and be the Pink Princess for six months while everyone around me buzzed about... you're the tough one in my book, friend.
